Last fall i had the hydraulic pump on my series 3 suck up a part of a power director disc and lock up. This tractor had the sump screen removed at some time and i will be replacing that screen. My question is can i remove the front axle assembly and front cover plate and replace the cam that way somehow holding the lifters from above? Thanks

This seem crazy but it works- go to Dollar General and get clothes pins and dowel rods from a hardware store - AC even has this in the fix it manual, tap the dowel rods in the lifter, snap it with a clothes pin - holds it up and works
