It sounds like the pump has been turned up a bunch.

Check air filter.  I had one that was plugged so solid I filled it with gasoline, went to house and had lunch, came back and the outside of the paper element was not even damp yet.  Smoked a lot less when I put a new one in.  Could also be your injection pump out of calibration.  Air filter is most likely a lot less expensive solution.

Our XT, 7030, and 7580's were always smokers.  The XT was turned up a bit as well.  There may be nothing wrong at all.  Its hard to tell cause too much smoke is always a matter of opinion.  No matter what, it wont run looking like its got pollution crap all over in it!!  Good luck!

You didn't mention color of exhaust. Could make difference in trouble shooting. I'm assuming its black. Is always same color idling,cold-operating temperature, full throttle or under load?
