I am talking to a guy about a 190XT, and don't have my books with me. Am I remembering correctly, are they about 90 HP?

Also, the guy says the power director won't shift, and believes it just needs to be adjusted, (The clutches were supposedly replaced a while ago, and he says it hasn't worked since). How likely is this, and if it ends up more than an adjustment, how major is the job to service the PD?

Thanks

Reed

An xt is rated 94 hp.;  the Power Director clutches are tough but will go bad if they dont have the hyd. pressure to hold the clutch pack together ; the plates get hot, warp and break; you have to put a pressure gauge on the hyd. to the PD clutch pack and check  hi side and low side ; I think its 255 psi to 295 psi ; this is the only adjustment on them ; if you get a -fix it- manual it describes it more detailed ; if the PD was just rebuilt its prolly the pressures , but Ive taken them apart and seen the clutch hubs welded up and patched together ; you cant do that unless a machine shop would do it to specs   !!!! Then its IFFFFY - Those are xpensive parts ; one half of the hub is no longer avaliable thru - The Almighty Agco -; the clutches , sealing rings , and steel and clutch plates are around $700 for everything thru TA AGCO ; LET US KNOW WHAT HAPPENS !!! Also make sure the engine clutch is good and not slipping ; that will happen too !!!!

If it doesn't shift from one range to the other after it has been apart they may not have aligned the halves of the power director housing when put back together works in one range not the other.learned that from experience.
