I just bought the 190 that was going to be scrapped listed on here a few days ago serial #3703. my question is the late D19 tranny the same as early XT. they both have the 2,3/4 axles, the tranny will need worked on as I see there is a bungy cord tied to the seat wich is never a good sign, also have almost complete unassembled D19 with good tin but no fenders that I am going to part out now that I have the XT or if somebody wants package deal we could talk. Work #574-753-4118 ask for Kevin Good, home #574-889-4118. Also I need battery cover for the XT

At that serial number 3703 I think your fourth gear imput shaft will be bigger than the D-19, the rear end housing's will be different, some of the gears and ring gear and pinnion may be the same, it's hard to tell without opening it up and looking at it.  It's hard to believe what prior owners are capable of doing to these tractors, changed this and that, and it seems anything is possiable when it comes to cutting costs and dumping the problems on the next guy buying, I've learned that the hard way.

Old 190 transmissions have little to nothing in common with D19 transmissions and zero in common with any XT.  D19 transmissions are identical to D17 transmissions of the same year....like 1962 and newer( Series 3 D17's).

the rear housings were different  D19 vs 190 but would interchange (later #s were merged with multiple supersessions) if the correct brg assy on the pinion was used.  We fought with a D19  many years ago that someone had modified a 190 rear end or built or machined the 4th gear input shaft to accept the snapring and manual pd clutch.  Don't know how they did it - or remember how we did it but it ran and heaven help the next one who had to tear into it.
