190 vs 200 speed

is the gear ratio in a early 190 threw the 200 the same? with 18.4 38's are all the wheel speeds the same. i was thinking the 200 was faster but is the tire size the only thing that sped them up. thanks

Direct drive road gear is the same. The use of D-19 bull gears speeds things up a bit.

180/185/190/190XT are 9 tooth pinion gear and 35 tooth ring gear for 3.89 to 1 ratio.   Model 200 has 10 teeth pinion gear and 39 teeth on ring gear for 3.90 to 1 ratio, essentially the same.   D-19 bull gears are 6.58 to 1 versus 7.15 to 1 for an 8% speed increase.   180/185 are 5.85 to 1 in the final drives for an 18% speed increase over any 190/200 final drive.

so a 190 if it has the same size tires is faster than a 2oo. will 180 final drives bolt on? do you make a manual coupler that will still let me use the hi side and the low side?

You do understand the theory in the finals of the drop reduction finals is very different to the straight axle differentials on the larger tractors? The delivered torque is what was after NOT speed, put all too much HP and delivered engine torque on the deep reduction axle ends and they will fail, put those lower HP/torque engines in the straight axle tractors and they labor to produce. There is a means to an end but it was NOT speed.

180/185 final drives only fit on a 180/185 rear end housing, so that is NOT an option unless you swap the whole rear end.  If you are being outrun by another 190, he is either using D-19 bull gears, tires that are taller, more engine RPM or all three things.  He could also be using (only ever knew of one of these) a 200 rear end with a 190  35 tooth ring gear matched to the 10 tooth pinion (instead of the 39 tooth 200 ring gear) for a 10% increase in speed.  I do make a two-speed coupler to replace the Power Director clutch so you still have all 8 gear selections.

dr allis thank you very much. are all d19 bull gears the same gas to diesel ect. dmiller yes i do understand that. im trying to speed things up so. i am running a class with a 20mph pace. so i want 7th around that and 8th 25 plus. open rpms so im figure i will be around 3500 rpms going down the track. maybe im way off?

D-19 gas and diesel are the same. You want to avoid a very old model because they had bull pinion coarse splines into the differential side gears. You'll want the later model bull pinions with the fine splines.
