Up to you. How hard is it to change? How much $$ for a new switch? Are you sure the switch isn't just out of adjustment? I wouldn't, but it's your call.

How much is your life or a friend or loved one's worth? 25 or 30 bucks from AGCO
Very simple to change. Knew a guy who bypassed one and reached up and started it luckily it was in reverse and he jumped free tractor wasn't so lucky. Do what you want people get run over every day!!! |

Replace it! There is a real good reason for having it.

The C doesn't have that safety switch and this was posted on facebook today as a result of turning the engine over when it was in gear. ![]() Edited by CTuckerNWIL - 02 Sep 2019 at 4:24pm |

I had a friend working on his 190. Bumped the starter and the tractor started. Back tire knocked him clear (very lucky). Went out of the shed, as it went past his pickup it hooked the bumper and headed for the pond. Ten feet from the pond edge the bumper tore free and the tractor kept going stopping near the middle of the pond. He always said he was the luckiest guy around since it didn't run over him. Got it towed out of the pond, drained and change all oils. Got everything dried out including the distributor and all ignition components and it started right up. I'd replace the switch.

I think that's a good decision, especially if kids will ever be starting it.
