 Topic: 175 Hobbs flasher

What is the secret for getting to the bulb on the newer Hobbs type flashing lights like those used on newer 175s? I pried the lens off an old one I had and it will no longer go back on - I do not want to try that with the one on my tractor.
I seem to recall that if you twist the light, it will give access to the bulb, but the entire light moves when I do that.
Any ideas?

Just use some silicone spray on the o-ring. Many truck turn signals are they same way and when they rarely have the lenses popped off they are tough to get back on, but the silicone lube spray makes them pop right back on.

I use Spray 9. The soap in it is pretty darn slippery. Worked great on any snap lens type lamp like Betts, Trucklite etc. It's usually easier with a new o-ring too....

The whole plastic housing should unscrew off the metal base

You called it right. The stud has 2 flat spots for a wrench or clamping in a vice and the whole black part and lenses unscrew. Couldn't be easier! I popped the lens off an old light I had a while back and it would not go back on. The black part of the light even shows the word "remove" with an arrow pointing counter clockwise.
