Is the front weight bracket for the suitcase weights the same on the 170 & 175 only or are they the same from the 170 up to the 185 or 190 Allis? What about the starter weight for the slab type weights and the slab weights themselves? I want to mount a front weight bracket ,preferably to use the suitcase weights with. I would also consider the slab weights,if I can't find a bracket for the suitcase weights. Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks,Rick

I'm not the expert here but the 170/175 frame in narrower than the 180/185 and takes a different front bracket for suitcase weights. I got one for a friends 180 and its 21 1/2" wide.  Ihe one-nintey only used slab weights on the starter weight. I've never seen a one-ninety with suitcase weights.

Thanks,Calvin...I really didn't know about the 190,just threw that in there. I figured the 170/175 were narrower than the 180/185,because I know the front grills have smaller dimensions on the 170/175 than they have on the 180/185.
Question...does anyone have a front weight bracket for a 170/175 that they would like to sell and,if so,how much? Would much rather have the suitcase weights than the slab weights,if possible. I can get the suitcase weights...all I need is the weight bracket. Need it by this coming spring.  Thanks,Rick

The 170and 175 are about 0ne and half inches narrower but with bushings you can make work,I did.

Thanks,Lester! So,in other words,if I use a weight bracket from a 180/185,I just need to use bushings or spacers between the bracket and the frame rails, correct? Well...that gives me three options now. LOL!  Rick

Rick, is your 170 a front pump or side pump like a D17 IV?

I have a front wrap around for the side mount.   If you install an earlier wrap weight on a later front mount the weight will not mount flat on the front, will work but will be cocked, bottom will be forward more.  The wrap weight for the front pump is notched to fit around the front axle pivot.
As already mentioned, the 180 bracket is wider than the 170, spacers will do the trick.

Allis Chalmers 170 and 175 frame width was not the same. The 175's were approx. 1/2" wider. I'm not sure about all 175's. It might be just the models after AC went to the crankshaft driven hyd. pump. (s/n 2035 and up)  Front mount suitcase Wts. were offered on both the 170 & 175.

I'm sure I've got a sales brochure of the Landhandler 190's with suitcase weights. I'll look, not that it matters. I should scan some brochurse and post them.
