I bought a 16' or 18' 1200 field cultivatorwith hydraulic wings. The hose going to the cylinders was rotted completely through so I have to replace it. There was only one hose that tee'd to both cylinders to pick up the wings. The other side of the cylinders just had a short section of hose that was plugged.
My question is are the wings on 1200 cultivator single acting? Or should there be a return side as well? Seems like there should be as the cylinders are double acting.

They are gravity down but the 18' we had the wings would over center and lay in a bit farther. As a young 12 year old I grabbed the wrong hyd lever at the end of the field and the wings went up and over center. I didn't have enough a** to pull it back. Dad and Uncle were gone for a bit and I didn't want them to know I screwed up so I asked the renters wife at the time to help me get it back over center. Sweet woman, bout 60 at the time, we got it folded down and went back to work. It seems I have to learn everything the hard way.

Uncle always said "Fill the back of the shovel and the front will take care of itself".
