Went to, (probably) the last plow-day of the year Sat**day. There were 7 rigs out in 40 acres of 33 year old CRP. As always I had a great time and I think everyone else did too. Two AC's, four Farmall's and one green thing, the only diesel. The dirt was crazy tough. This was the third plow-day this fall for me and the dirt just keeps getting tougher. Dould have used a couple hundred more pounds on the front! Plenty on the back, traction never a problem. Here's the line-up, I was in the lead for some reason. |

The Orange is always in the lead. They didn't want you running over those red ones or the ugly green thing. Hope you didn't show them up too bad.

Had plow-day on Sunday too, kind of. Plow maintenance day that is. Finished cleaning up the 3-16's and put away for the winter. Did a poor mans tune-up on the 45, wow, those points were shot! Hooked onto the 'new' slat bottom 73. Started making preliminary adjustments and took the wire brush and flap wheel to one bottom. Shined up pretty good. One a day is enough! Need a depth wheel for this one. Think this would have been an asset in the muck we plowed Sat**day. |
