If you have never seen this set up over on Facebook on the Upper Midwest a-c club post is a picture of it running last July at the Orange Spectacular, it was built by Gary Agrimson and Gilbert Vust using pictures as a guide.

Yes Darrell I saw it and looked close at it, Gary is a master machinest which I already knew since I have been to his machine shop in the cities. For those who may not know Gary has done detailed work for the medical industry. He showed me a machine he has that can "jet" a hole thru steel just a few thousands of a inch in diameter, much smaller than can be drilled. Best of all he is a first class guy!!

I'd think they'd 'fight' each other unless the PTO speeds were exactly the same ?

Jay the key to get them to run smooth was matching up the rpms as close as possible and getting the govenors to work together

The slower one out of sync starts contributing only load being shoved by the faster tractor and then the whole thing slows from the fast one being more overloaded by that shoving and the threshing machine load. Probably leads to speeds oscillating down and up.
I liked the Waukesha WC at Hutch a few years ago running the threshing machine, no complication and it ran smooth. Gerald J. |

My grand-dad used to run a 26"-er with a F-20 and a Ford-son the same way way and he never had trouble. The higher RPM tractor cared the load in tell the slower tractor started to pull. He used them that way for years because that's all he had to work with.

Gary is great. Didn’t know that about his shop, though. He’s very humble. When I asked him what all he did in his shop, he said, “Oh not much, just little stuff.” I guess making a hole a couple thousands wide really IS “little stuff”. Lol |
