Replaced one this morning. Happy I had a spare and even happier that I knew where it was. Also nice for an easy fix Wonder what the city is putting in our water? One of the flapper ears was almost gone. Maybe chlorine? Thanks |

Very likely too much chlorine. Some water systems are not monitored closely enough and the chlorine level gets too high. Glad you had a spare on hand and could locate it. I have deep wells at the house and at the farm and not many plumbing problems except for the site built septic tank wall at the farm collapsing after fifty plus years of service. ------------- Just an old country boy saved by the grace of God. |

| Not much that lasts 50 years anymore. We were on a well 25 years or so. One disadvantage is when you lose power you have no water. |

We had a hand dug well when I was growing up. We had a single stage jet pump but also a pulley with a long chain and a bucket on each end if the power went out. That was some good cool drinking water on a hot summer day. Dad had a deep well drilled during a bad drought in ‘83. ------------- Just an old country boy saved by the grace of God. |
