I have a MF 1140 compact tractor with a cab and a loader.

The factory heater quit working and the cab manufacture, Curtis, has not responded to any inquires I have about parts, so replacing the whole heater unit.

Question- Does it make any difference which hose, inlet or outlet, that the water shut off valve is located in? Currently on the inlet side, but with the new heater it will be much more convenient to access it on the outlet side. Would like to keep the valve to shut off the flow as it already gets toasty in the cab during the summer.

I would think shutting the outlet off would allow just a little more heat make its way up to the heater unit.

With no flow it won't allow a huge amount of heat through, I would try the more convenient method and see if it works well enough.

1/4 turn valves on both where connected to block

Either one will stop flow - the residual heat travel should be nil and either way if no flow enters core
