   Went by a fellas place to help him on his D14 and it had this hand clutch kicker on it. I’m sorry, I don’t know the correct name but I do know what it does. Heard about them but I have never seen one before. | After creating the "rock throw-out" for the WD-series, they almost had to retain the same optional feature on the Dynamic new D-series !! The engineer had to really think outside the box with the two-speeds on the same lever. |

Another engineering marvel to resolve a potential dangerous problem. Of all the tractors I’ve seen at shows and on farms I have never seen one mounted on a tractor. Must have been a pretty rare option. There a lot of D series in our area, surprised I’ve never seen one before. Were they an option for all D series snap coupler tractors? I've had a bunch of NOS ones still all wired together. They have all sold. ------------- If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere. Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

Yes, if you run a moldboard plow it would be good to have one. If he decides to part out the tractor I may try to purchase it since I have 2 SC plows. Old Fordsons had a clutch kick-out on the three-points. All three of my Majors have it. They had a heavy 'U' cast bar that you swung up over the top link when hooking up, such that when a rock lifted the plow it would lift the 'U' disengage the clutch. Then had a lever you pulled up to re-engage the clutch and get off it. They also were availabe with custom top links with an internal hydraulic reservoir and hefty die spring, that would disengage the clutch hydraulically via a cylinder on the tractor if equipped. Supposedly a little more responsive. Have one of those top links in a shed somewhere. In both cases they never saw much use around here. By the time they disengaged the clutch, you were already on top of the rock and had done any damage you were going to do. Most were never used. I suspect that was the same case on the Allis's. I've heard of them several times and know a couple guys who had taken theirs off, but never heard of one being practically used.

I would rebuild it for him but I don’t have the time to do it for months. Too busy at the farm doing my own thing. Do you have one rebuilt now Paul to sell? If so how much? I have one my WD45 and it works well. I've had it kick out a couple times. My family had a similar device on their John Deere's years ago. They worked well. The JD never broke the plow hitting rocks, but they once bent a beam on their Ford hitting a rock. The throwout must have worked. |

As a young lad we had one on a D14. While plowing in 2nd high with 3 14" SC plow you do not think you are going very fast. However if you are standing up looking for a stump you were told was at the fence line and the plow found it before you did and having the tractor coming to an instant dead stop.... you will not... the kit should have come std with a seat belt. I was lucky to not have broken something and have the spinner knob miss the latisicals..... ------------- When told "it's not the money,it's the principle", remember, it's always the money.. |
