Looking for an all crop combine closer to Maine the better. Looking for one is useable shape. They seem to be scarcer than hens teeth in these parts. Just want to plant a couple acres of oats or wheat mostly for kicks

Years ago I sold a 66 that a fellow came from California to get. Then a few years later my 40 went to North Dakota. If you find one you like. they are not as bad to haul as many make them out to be. Getting oversize permits for personal use isn't a big deal. I've even know of All-Crops being towed a couple hundred miles with some planning to use only secondary roads and a bunch of grease stops and few spare tires, with an offset hitch on the truck.

Thanks for the info Paul. Do they break down similar to a roto baler? I’ve got access to a 24’ deck over trailer. I took the draw bar and feed off the roto baler along with the axle one side and brought that home pretty easy. That was only 100 or so miles though.

They don't break down as easy as a RotoBaler. I think I remember seeing pictures from long ago when they were shipped on their backs with the hitch removed. Unless you find a 72 or 90 I'd just haul it or pull it.

Ideally I’d like to find one somewhat close to home but may have to take a road trip for the right one. Got a message into a place that deals with old machines that may have one but no idea how long it’s been sitting outside…. Are most all crops around 12’ wide or are some narrower? It probably would be a small fortune to hire someone to haul one?

Well the one at the salvage yard was a bust. No reel, missing a bunch of chains, no canvas, the parts inside that are supposed to be covered with rubber were all smashed up and they still wanted 800 bucks for it!!!

Has anyone ever had one of these shipped? Thinking it may be worth it to buy one a little further away and pay to have it shipped….

Keep looking and be patient. Maybe not in maine, but overall they are faily common. There was just a sale in the midwest that had a few that sold.

Speaking of a scourkleen, does anyone have any use for one?

I had a 60 that had an engine on it. I bought it at an auction for and used some engine parts from it, but it had a scourkleen on it that I saved. It has been on a shelf for several years.
