Good morning. My 6070 fuel gauge is not showing the right level of fuel in the tank and I need to test the gauge, but I can't get the dash panels off. I have a couple of 6080s that I need to adjust the throttle friction blocks on as well. From what I have found neither the operator's manual or the service manual mention how to remove the dash side panels. I pulled the two bolts out of the side but they still seem to stuck at the top. The service manual does explain a good way to test the gauges.

How do you get them off? It seems so simple, but I guess I am missing something.

You have to carefully give them a tug but they do come off. They are bolted and also have a couple of pins behind them that kind of snap into place. I encountered the same question the first time I removed mine years ago.

Thank you. I was able to get them off. So far testing has confirmed a bad gauge.
