I know I have asked this before. I had it saved and lost it. One of my D15's quit charging. It has generator , voltage regulator and ampheres gage. Where is best place and how to check for problem. I need to tatoo it to my arm I guess! Sorry for asking again. Thanks, Tracy

I start with getting the generator and voltage regulator checked out.  If they are good, that means the ammeter is the problem.

try grounding the "F" terminal of the generator and see if it starts charging... if so, you have a problem with the regulator ..

try running a wire from the "A" terminal to the HOT side of the battery... see if it charges... that bypasses the REGULATOR and AMP METER..

I have a jumper wire 5 ft long with an aligator clip on each end that i use for these "tests".

you can also POLARIZE the generator and reset the regulator by touching the "B" and "G" terminals together on the regulator for 1 second and get a small SPARK.

I always start with turning on the lights first.....to verify that the ammeter actually works. Of course this assumes at least one light works to make the ammeter needle dip.
