 Topic: AC 8050 don't disengage clutch and no trans.brake?

Hi everyone When I step on clutch of my 8050 tractor, it does not disengage and keep on moving. It also do not have any trans.brake when I push the paddle all the way down. The mechanical part seems to be doing its job pulling the hydraulic piston out, so what else could be wrong? Thanks for your time

Not sure where what and where the inching spool is? Is it inside the wet clutch at the plates? As I mentioned it also does not have trans.brake when the clutch paddle is fully pressed down?

It's as if the oil can't go to the dump port nor the trans.brake port. Could something be blocked up and prevent oil from going where it should?

Thanks MACK, I think I know now what Doc is talking about. If I'm understand correct and the spool is the part that moves in/out the valve body, will it not be stuck in one position with the piece of broken off fork? I'm asking, because my spool is not stuck at all. It moves easy and all the way. I have never been inside the valve body, could someone maybe explain how the inching spool directs the oil to clutch/ dump/ transbrake? Or maybe posts or sites or online manuals where i can learn more. All I have is my logic, and that is telling me I have oil presure (tractor moves), but spool can't dump, or direct oil to trans. brake, all though it(spool) is moving. My neighbor told me to press the clutch and then brake hard, while driving, to see if it will loosen up the clutch, but this is not a stuck dry-clutch problem and I'm to afraid to brake my torque converter plate AGAIN!!

The spool you see is external. It pushes against an internal and separate inching spool. The inside one is the one that is stuck because something has jammed it.

Not too difficult if you are used to wrenching on farm equipment. You'll probably need two gaskets and a spool oil seal while you have it apart. Everything is aluminum so be careful. A service manual would be helpful. Everything externally must be adjusted right for proper shifting and kickdown and inching. Bolt torques are kind of crucial.

Thanks again. Yes wrenching is my thing! I don't use cutlery when I eat in my Allis, only sandwiches, so I don't really know where that piece of fork came from!!  |
