Where to find a mechanical rpm gauge?

Not sure what it’s called but you can hold it against the end of a spinning shaft and read rpm like on an electric motor.

I have that same one as well left over from Dad's shop. Use it to set RPMs on the Hesston self propelled mower/conditioner

Mine is an antique Stewart-Warner hand held mechanical tach, and it works great... in EITHER direction...   IIRC, it was at a garage sale for $5...
Ten Amendments, Ten Commandments, and one Golden Rule solve most every problem. Citrus hand-cleaner with Pumice does the rest.
