My name is Bob ,I just joined the forum .I find these forums great for information and locating parts. My wife and I have owned a 1989 XR7 5 speed for 36 years.I was a ford tech for many years ,after that I worked for a shop that restored cars and just recently retired. We drove the Cougar for a number of years but once we had kids the car became impractical so we put it into storage. That was 23 years ago and I almost forgot we owned it.The owner of the storage place recently called me to let me know that the building was sold and I had to get the car out . I had not seen the car for many years and it was covered with a quarter inch of dust and 3 flat tires.I trailered the car home and drained out the very old fuel and changed the fluids. After putting a new tires and a battery in it the car fired up and ran well. All the electricals are working but the ABS light is on but it stops fine.I will dig into that first and then I will need to replace the premium sound cassette unit unless in can find a repair manual for the radio.I forgot how nice this car was to drive .
