Ctucker , nice picture, I would love to have that sitting in my shop. Even if either one of the tractors could be bought, my bank account tells me they can not be bought....... LOL
I hitched a few rides on them at shows, they are massive beasts.

An unstyled WC with a wide front and a wd45 diesel and an IB. For off color I'd like to have a JD 435 with the GM 2 cyl diesel and an Oliver super 55 and MM the small one that looks the same size as a AC B I've only seen pics and don't know the model.

In terms of AC. I would like to have a WC with a diesel engine in it because I love diesel engines and a diesel WC would probably be one of a kind. Now in terms of other tractors I would say an Oliver 1950 with the 4-53 Detroit.

my grandads 1953 john deere 40t, it came home the same week i did, and i grew up on it, the only complete restorration that i ever did to a tractor, i had it looking good with the cultivators and two row side dressers,
it was in the old barn here at home in the fall of 08, when the barn burnt, while i did not bawl, over its loss i did shed a tear when i saw it, all those memories of my grandfather teaching me to drive and work, are only in my memory now, up till then i had something tangible i could set on and know that he had spent many a day there also  before the final restoration in the tobacco patch after the fire Edited by ky wonder - 01 May 2011 at 7:57am

 ky wonder,
I'm sorry for your loss. I have my Dads WD45 that is the tractor I learned to drive on, I also restored it for him. I would hate to see it burned. Did you get to keep it? From the picture it looked like it could have been rebuilt again although it wouldn't be cheap.

Sorry for that loss, I know the feeling, if at all possible, whatever you do, don't let her go! You may yet have a chance to put her back together, and think of that story, and the smiles that come with it. I have a second change to fix up a tractor my great grandfather sold new at his dealership, I won't let it go again.  I dought I would ever have that chance again, since Allis is all but dead in our area, and all the tractors he sold, are scattered, or melted, or in a fence row, I don't know about.

i pickeled the tractor after the fire with all intentions of someday trying to restore it, but after 8 months of watching it, i finally sold it to get the heartbreaking sight off the place, i know that i had just overhauled it and bored it out 100,000ths, and but it back together with m@w pistons and it would run with a set of 2x14s hooked to it.
i have seen other 40's that where in just as nice condition that i could have bought reasonbaly, but they where not that tractor, grandaddy above all was a realist, so i know he would understand, for the last parts of his life the tractor was only used to plow tobacco and power elevators but i do miss it, its kinda like my wife i would not take anything for her, but would not give a dime for a truck load just like her.
