Tractor is NOT MINE .

Customer just bought this tractor and dropped it off to have me do a few thing's to it before he starts using it.

He ask me to take these fenders off  and throw them on scrape pile .

Do you like or dislike them . Thought might be interesting to here opinions and comments.

Look good but I think dirt would get caught up in them and tear them up, could mount lights to them, then they would be directional
I would rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6

On the fence about em. Bought a 7045 at auction that had a set sold separate from the tractor. Did not bid on them but realized later the mounts are still on it(Bet the fender buyer is mad). For me , the only benefit would be to keep slurry off the lower cab glass when traveling on wet roads.

I'd sell 'em, someone will want them. They look pretty straight, why send them to scrap?

Eugly but functional. would keep the front tires from throwing crap up in your face when traveling at higher speed on wet roads. don't think I would want them on my tractor though.

I have a et of fenders.  I thought about putting them on here for sale but never got around to it.  Mine are rounded and are thick steel, not sure on the thickness.  I hooked one on my D14 and thought it looked good.  Those ones look homemade, but they might be handy on a tractor drive.

The only way I would want them on my tractor is if I had a dedicated tractor for tractor drives and/or shows.  I wouldn't want them on a "working" tractor, although I have seen them on working tractors before.  BTW, I don't have a "show" tractor.

If all you want to do is keep road spray and horse dung off of you going down the road (for those of you with Amish neighbors), that's fine.  Too unwieldy and too much to go wrong or get in the way for a true working tractor.

Keep them Fred and sell them to somebody down the road.

The size of the fender is out of proportion to the tire. I'd start withe cutting 3" off each end. Keeping the same angles. Just my thought.

hmm, I don't like them probably toss into scrapbin. if, IF, I needed fenders ,I'd repurpose nice rounded ones. I don't travel down the roads in the rain and can't see how they'de benefit me...
Curious about the tow hook bolted to the front axle. THAT just seems 'wrong' somehow.

I've never had a D-series WD that'll throw anything at you at field speed.  Now, on a shushy or wet road, during a snow melt, and at road speed, they might be the dogs nuts!

I'd take 'em off and try to sell'em.  After all, someone put a lotta work in fabbing them up!

Maybe you can sell them to a guy, you know him, the one with the truck that has every accessory, that JC whitney ever sold!Wink

I've thought of putting a pair on my D-10 that I drive on tractor caravans.

That's a 'tractor ride' tractor.  The front hook for restraining on trailer, the fenders keep road splash off your face... and out of the frame-mounted toolbox conveniently located alongside the engine area you'd need it the most...

It's all about context.

If they seem 'fugly', that probably means you've lived in the suburbs too long, and don't deserve a country girl.  The guy who built 'em probably had a sheet-metal brake, a reciprocating saw, file, and spot-welder, rather than an english wheel, planishing hammer, and bead-roller.  If that'd been the case, perhaps they'd be aesthetically more suited to your agricultural environment... LOL

I've seen fenders at TSC. I think that they were meant for trailers, but thought that they would work for the front wheels on wide front tractors.
