What did you do with your Allis Today?

Measure that Monoframe plow. I'll bet it's 18 inch bottoms. That's what we sold with every new 7030 and 7040 tractor.

Took the NFE 45 on a little tractor ride, just me and a friend on his 460. Tune-up ride before the WHO. Started re-setting coulters on the MONOFRAME while waiting for John to get here. 

Thank you for the encouragement, and your D14 looks great. This has been not really a priority the last couple weeks as hay season tends to take up any spare time I might have, but I'm going to try to get a few things fixed. Getting the pins so I can swap between drawbar and three point adapter easily was at the top of the list. My brother said I might have overpaid when we picked it up, now he thinks it will be a decent tractor to have around. I looked up my serial, it is a 1957. The FB-B it is hooked to is a 1959, so at least with that we are period correct.
Edit to add I keep using the saying "for the price", and that is really unfair to this tractor. Yes, I picked it up cheap but it would still be a good tractor at double or maybe triple the price. It runs good, the transmission and power director feel good, the hydraulic pump lifts the arms and doesn't make noise(haven't put a load on it yet). That is the flip side of auctions - it only takes two people to run a price up but if the second person isn't interested it goes cheap.

I finally got the lift arm latches loosened up enough to move them by hand(as long as that hand has a crescent wrench in it for leverage) and back on the D14. So far this has been a nice not-really-a-project side project. A few parts here and there and a little work on a few things to keep me doing something when there isn't a lot else to work on. It will be probably a week or two before it gets used to reseed some grass but after that I want to be ready to pull the drawbar and put on the three point adapter if for no other reason than to see how usable it is. I need to get some seat parts ordered too, new shock/spring assembly and a couple bushings. It looks like it uses the same one as my seriesIII, and I need to redo that one again soon also.

6060 was on round bale duty, still feeding cattle hay due to draught. Should have stopped feeding in March. Pasture land has not recovered even though we have had some recent nice rain events.

I finally remembered to take some pictures today. Didn't get baling conditions overnight so we spent the morning changing a few things around, decided it would work better trading balers around due to hitch differences.

I know it isn't the nicest looking machine, but all I really need it to do is pull a baler for 20-30 hours per year. It has a few things that need to be fixed. When I wired in my bypass to start it Thursday I put a fuse in the circuit. It has popped that fuse several times now, so I'm glad I put it there. I will eventually need a better solution than a pocketful of fuses and that will happen at some point. There are some hydraulic leaks that will need attention. It will need tires soon.
On the positive side it seems to run good, the combine engine that is in it looks to be the newer engine(casting date of '75 on the oil cooler). I like having the key switch shut it off. It is a lot more comfortable of a ride than my 7000.
So far I am happy with it.

Finally got some baling weather to try out the 7030. We knocked out about 60 acres with two machines and then I was able to hop on my 4430 and finish raking, with any luck should be able to finish tonight.
My homemade light switch worked without issue. I still have to keep fuses on hand for the start solenoid circuit, it seems to pop one the first time you hit the starter when it is cold. Works fine once the engine is warm, have not yet had it pop two in a row.

The CA hauled the weekly recycling out the driveway to the road last night.

I finally did the gas spring conversion on the 7045 door. I found some old posts about one of the members here selling a kit, but when I looked up their profile it appears they haven't been here for quite some time. I decided I would just buy a bunch of different ones from Amazon and see if anything would work. I lucked out and had one that worked, although I got my measurement off. I think I can move the one mount a little on the door frame and gain a bit more opening angle. It currently opens to roughly where it did with the stock strap. I forgot to get pictures, maybe next week.

Hand never left the hand clutch

I have an old friend who was an A-C dealer and a roto-baler master. He even had to do a demonstration occasionally to prove what was possible. With a BIG windrow, hay that was fit to bale, and an operator that didn't waste one motion, he could bale 6 bales in 60 seconds !!!  Now, there will be many of you who will doubt the claim and if he was still alive he would be glad to take your bet !! 

Had the 7000 and seriesIII running baler this morning, should be able to finish the little bit that is left in the morning. I put some nice lights on the seriesIII last year, and haven't run it myself at night (or any other time) since. My brother always seems to end up running that one. He is not there tomorrow, maybe I'll use it.

I remembered to get a picture of the gas spring I put on the 7045 door. I looked back through what I had bought and decided I used a 15" spring with 22# pressure. It barely pushes the door open and is easy to close. I have about 1.5" that I can move the mount on the door frame before the spring is fully collapsed when closed which would let the door open further, but I don't know if I want it any different than what it is.
