I am wiring the gen on wd with cutout. The fast charge switch has been removed & a switch for the lights is in its place.Were do I put the field wire?

the field wire is grounded to charge. the 3rd brush will need to be adjusted for 3 or 4 amps so you don't over charge the battery.
