It's been slow going, but some progress has been made.  I installed the front wheel bearings and wheels, I don't have as much rake as I had thought I might with 16.9X28 rears and 5.50X16 fronts, and thats good.  Finished the steering shaft with the addition of a 2nd u-joint. Still undecided on a steering wheel, I would like a good used unstyled steering wheel rather that the Ford model T wheel in the photo. Installed the freshly relined brake shoes, and mocked up the platform and what / where my brake pedals might be. I had thought the clutch pedal relocation was done, but, size 11 work boots got in too close with the shift lever in 2nd gear, so I will  fab a new  & move the clutch pedal to just to the left of the steering support , remake the linkage and pivot from the same shaft as the brake pedals. And remake the platform, and maybe raise the rear fenders a bit, get the seat frame made........

  ,

The platform is 38" from the floor so I will need 2, probably 3 steps to gain easy entry from the front. Now the trick is to make it  all look like Allis-Chalmers did this !

,

, ,

Now if I just could get my starter , I could hear that sweet sounding 6 again......
Still a lot to do, recore the rad with a 3 row core, pull the engine and install my new clutch,  search the salvage yards for a suitable seat track so my bench seat has some adjustment, not to mention wheelie bars ,weight brackets, and some paint !

Have no fear Big G, I'm on the tail end of the starter rebuild. If I'm happy with the load test results, it'll be headin' yer' way this week dude! That flat tanker is lookin' better n' better every time you post some new pics. Keep em' comin'. There's a lot of nice work being done there....

Thanks Steve.  I have a small temporary tank for fuel and I can hot wire this puppy  in short order !
I am really looking forward to hearing that sweet 262 again! Ran it on the skid when I got this engine thru the muffler, haven't heard it thru the straight pipe yet !!! I'm betting she will  fire right off with your rebuild.  Thanks again, Gary

Fred, I hope to come in at 3500#, the engine is stock for now , from a C-2 Gleaner and was rated at 2400 rpm, I plan to govern it at at 2000, so maybe 65 hp. ????

Just spray EVERYTHING orange and then only us AC guys will know the truth. The competition will NEVER figure it out. Heck, put Allis Chalmers decals on it and they still won't be able to get it right when they tell their buddies what make whooped their a$$. BTW-VERY NICE WORK!!!!. It will sure be a nasty beauty.

Kip, the wheelie bars are not required where I pull, they should be ! It's also a practical matter to have them. It becomes so much easier to lift one side or both  to change wheels or adjust brakes I hate a tippy tractor on a jack.
I might call this one" the meaner gleaner"  I hope to have some other color pullers
wondering what went past them on the track, hehehe

Front wheel assist  on a WC would pose  more than a few design challenges......
got me thinking...... then again a narrow front with FWA  would help keep the front end down......

Gary this is the first I've seen this project. It is awsome. Those wheels just set that puller off. Please keep posting. When do you pull in Onaway? We live just south of there in Lewiston and would like to come up to see it. Great workmanship. Keep up the excellent work. Roger
