hmm, an Xcellent question !

if it hold, a great weld !

if it fails, a &*%*&(%&*%(^$%$@#%#$$(&*^&)(*)(*_&)*%$&(^%_&^) weld .

OK, maybe an 'hourglass' ??

Hay, I tired . Had to hand shovel a YARD of busted concrete off MY driveway  and into the 'Porch Project', don't ask why. All I know is my arms still hurt and NOBODY has said 2 words to me that HIS mess has been CLEANED up...

BTW be sure to clamp the steel down good ,weld, and DO NOT remove the clamps UNTIL the steel naturally cools down. Failure to not do this WILL result in the piece warping,go cockeye, bend, be USELESS......

If they were point to point of the 90s, I believe it would be a butt weld.  If you position them so that one was slid up the back of the other so that two legs were inline across from each other I believe it would be a fillet weld.

Im not sure i have seen such a design. I would not be structural as there is no strength in that design and not useful in any construction.. It could be a design or architecture piece, but i have not seen anything like that.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Confused I am lost as is normal. So be gentil with me when tell me I am crazy.Ouch

But why can't you weld the 2 angle irons together? You place outside of the angle back to back and you have the cross with equal "arms" in all direction. Unless you need hundreds and hundreds of feet of it no big deal.

Wink And as with everything this day and age you can buy steel here off the confuser O'h I mean computer. Some place out here in the clouds, blue sky somebody had a link, and I bit. Every other add was for steel ( thank God I don't get as many adds as some seem to). But now all realest or weed killers.LOL So if you're brave enough, or is it dumb enough use your search for steel whole sale an see if you can find what you're looking for.

Now that I moved on in comes the add Metal Depot is one place. Find out if they do free shipping on a 20 foot stick of anything.LOLLOLLOL

Cruciform section?  Not sure if it's readily available but I think that's what it'd be known as.

I think as suggested, if it's small volume you may be better off gluing it up yourself.
