my grandpa has a spare wd 45 cam shaft, will this fit in  a wd? also is it the same profile as a wd cam as we were going to get it reground to 175 specs for this winter. also anyone know a good cam place, phone number or email?

yes, i think they are the same

Berry cam service did mine. I don't have any experience with anyone else to compare but they were good to work with and price is reasonable.

if your building a puller, there are better profiles than a straight 175 grind

seams a lot of comments on better profiles but no comments on what makes a better profile from anyone to answer your question. The fact is the cam  is reground from your core that's already been ground once and depending on how good the core is depends on how much can be done. Even with a perfect core changes in profiles are so subtle that it takes a cam dr. to find the difference in a cam from 5 leading grinders then there is the next question  how well the engine will respond to such subtle changes. A cam profile that sounds stock and works well in a 403 inch build is choppy and terrible for a 226 inch engine most regrinders just look at the cubic inch and the compression ratio along with rpm and pretty much profile it to the same cubic inch cam automotive design. A 440 inch allis pulling cam profile will be identical usely to a stock low rpm torque pulling 440 mopar spec. i like agressive ramp profiles that accelerate the valve but with valve speed comes valve train stress and thus need for quality springs ,valves ,seats etc. Even cotncrazys puller liked quicker acceleration of the valve along with a net valve lift increase  from simply tightening the lash from the factory spec. jmho
