How much horsepower can the factory p/d hold on 190xt series III and still be reliable?
Just started on a farm stock and didn't want to overlook anything obvious

Know of one that's putting about 400hp through one, and my 190 is putting about 300hp through one. Neither of us are running stock pressures, mine is running about 400PSI, stock is 255-275psi. They are holding so far.

I had the rear end gone through by 85 yr old allis man
and a buddy of mine cryo hardened the gears for me now

I probably wouldn't go over 400 psi on that clutch pressure......I saw one clutch split apart at the ears from too much pressure.

I believe AC200puller is running a bit higher then that for couples years now, maybe he'll chime in and share? Lol

Someone told me once the PD clutches hold more dry , i had a 180 set up close to 800 HP, the Pd held great, the foot clutch got rebuilt 2 times a year,no slipper, just a Jonesburg special- i never shifted it under a load tho

Running just short of 600 psi but have other things in place to keep it together.

I know of one that had been raised up too high (on a 180) and split the PD clutch housing apart. Now, how high was it, he didn't really know.....he just added one extra shim and apparently it was one shim too many. You go ahead and keep adding shims until you split one and then we'll all know what the threshold is. I'd say 180's and 185's would scare me the most with the pressure regulator they use compared to a 190XT or old 200. Be sure and check it at full throttle too, because at slower engine speeds you may think you are just fine and then when you wind it up "boom".

Yeah, mine is setting at just over 400 at full throttle. If it breaks it breaks, not a pulling tractor unless something breaks! Lol.
Pulled it all summer at 400. Hauled wagons with it, shifted it while pulling and hauling wagons, so far so good. Time will tell.
