OK. I have a man having a tractor repainted. I got him the decals but would like to help him with placement. Where can you direct me for help? Also would like paint code numbers so he can have automotive paint mixed. Thanks

PPG 60396 is persian II, which is correct for a series III D17,  As far as decal placement I would look at some pictures in an original owners manual.

The hood decal should have the ALLIS CHALMERS closest to the front with the longer white-space to the rear.  If you put them on the wrong side the name will be to the rear.  There are some good pictures of originals on here, also some repaints that have the decals on the wrong side.  It is pretty noticeable, lay them out and look at them to make sure you get them right before you apply them.

Here is a picture Oldoug posted it is a Series IV but the decal placement is the same:

The cream color would be a dupont number 29049.
