Hey, at least it was an easy fix.   Could have been the other set screw thats inside.

Its official- I am an IDIOT... I had simply assumed that the lever would go onto some kind of a splined shaft, so I never  looked at it really good. Sure enough the setscrew must have fallen out (there was nothing in the hole anyway). I put a large bolt in the hole, tightened it up, and WOW High AND low are now working as they should. ME SOOOO STUPEE  Thanks guys

If tightening the set screw doesn't do it, you can also try adjusting the shims in  the clutch. If the shims don't do it, get the splitting stands...

Hello again everyone! I had some problems earlier with the D-14 going thru coils and condensers, I think I have that problem solved.

My newest issue is the hand clutch. The high speed in the hand clutch has been on the fritz for some time now, I would work in "high" as long as you held it in high. I usually didn't bother, and did all the real work on the tractor in the low setting. Well the other day as I was mowing, I noticed the location of the lever on the hand clutch had changed, and wasn't providing the pulling power I needed. After tinkering with it for a minute, I was able to get it to go into the "high" position(although not like it used to be) and was able to finish the mowing by feathering the hand clutch. Now it  will not stay in either position, and in fact, the lever can move over a much bigger range than before. I can just barely get it to work in "low", and "high" is there only if you are very careful to feather it.

So...bottom line, It needs some attention. What is the fix for this problem? Will I have to split the tractor in two to effect this repair? Where is a good source of parts for this? I have some experience at this and helped the last time I had it split (had an issue with the PTO) probably about 10 years ago. Any help is appreciated.
