If it is an A-C 500 loader it shouldn't be a problem. Always remember a 180-185-190-200 were wider at the side frames over a D-17/170/175. A 500 loader on the narrow framed tractors had spacer plates between the side frames and the loader frames. Also the wide frame tractors were probably 5 inches longer, so that has to be dealt with too, with multiple holes for the axle brackets. An A-C 400 loader has no frame spacers and is too narrow and short to fit the larger/wider/longer frame tractors.

How do I know for sure what ldr I have here? I was hoping it is a #500 like I thought I got - Is there a model plate somewhere? It is genuine orange and the frame has Allis Chalmers in big letters

If there are 5/8" thick spacers between the loader frames and the tractor side frames, it has to be a "500" series, which can be made to fit. If there are no spacers whatsoever, it must be a "400" and it is too narrow. If it is a "500" loader and it was mounted on a D-17/170/175 there has to be spacers.
