If the pin is loose - you may have to repair the hole or use a slightly larger pin or spiral pin to be tight.   
When told "it's not the money,it's the principle", remember, it's always the money..

5/32 x 1 1/4 dowel pin from mcmaster is what i used , no problems  used an  air hammer to peen the ends  ....i seem to recall people asking about using a roll pin,  others that may no longer be with us here on the forum advised against it
