Hello All,
I am in the process of restoring an Allis Chalmers 810GT with a 42" deck. I am learning a lot about the tractor during this process. As I understand it, the 800 series includes the 808, 810 and 811. I believe that all three models are identical, except for a slight difference in engine displacement.
Question #1- I have seen a reference to a series II. Is there such a thing and if so, what is the difference?

I don't know much about Simplicity tractors except that some models are identical to the old Allis lawn tractors. As far as I can see, the Allis 800 series was the same as the Simplicity 6000 series. I think my 810 GT is the same as the Simplicity 6010, but I am having trouble finding an accurate cross reference between the two makes.
Question #2 - Is the Allis 810 GT the same as the Simplicity 6010? I can't find much information on the 6010, although there is some on the 6008 which I assume is the same as the 808GT.

I am currently replacing the transmission drive belt. My parts book calls for Allis Part# 2028035 which is a 1/2" x 85"OD Kevlar. I bought this belt from an industrial supplier and found that it is too small. It fits but there is not enough slack for the clutch to disengage the transmission. The information I have been able to find on a Simplicity 6008 calls for Part# 2165048SM which is a 1/2" x87" Kevlar.
Question 3 - Can anyone tell me the correct dimensions for the transmission drive belt for an 810GT?
Question 4 - I haven't got to the deck yet, but while I am at it, can anyone give me the correct dimensions for the deck drive belt (possibly part# 2027134 - 1/2" x 70") and the arbor drive belt (possibly part # 2025364 - 1/2" x 82")?

Thanks a lot for any help.
I'm a man...and I can change...if I have to... I guess.

I had a 6008 for many years.  You are correct on the cross reference to the 800 series Allis tractors.  I'm not sure why your Allis belt is 85" & the Simplicity belt is 87".  I'd go with the Simplicity belt of 87".  The deck I had originally was the 36" deck which I replaced later in life with a 42" deck off a 6216.  That deck design didn't utilize the "pulley cluster" in front like the original 42" deck for that tractor did.  It was simply one belt that attached to double pulley off the engine crankshaft to the arbors.  Two belts on the entire tractor.  If I remember correctly, the hardest part about installing the drive belt was loosening up the transmission pulley (maybe even removing it) to get the belt on that pulley due to the slot in the frame.  This is of course assuming it has the cast iron Peerless 3 speed transmission.
I would utilize the parts manual from a 6008 or a 6011.  The 6008 did not come with a 42" deck but was an option for the 6011.
I don't know what a series II would be.
