This is the second time we broke one. It has the 13 ft discbine attached. Case DC 132.

My question is:

Has anyone bought a new drawbar from A&I?

Are they good?

Agco price is $940 CAN which seems a bit much...

I don't know the answer to your question, I haven't seen a broken draw bar on any of our tractors in close to 50 years of memory!   But I have a question: What is breaking them do you know?  Bouncing?  Binding up/down in hills or something?

Our green discbine has an extension that slips over the drawbar and extends the pivot back about a foot if case does that I can't imagine the weight of that 13 foot discbine, on the tip then bounce it good and snap

Checked salvage yards? Lots of 7000 series ACs been parted, shouldn't be hard to find. By the way, I have broken one too!

Well I'm ordering one from A&I. ($485 CAN) I'll let you know how it turns out.

Yes the wreckers have em, but they're usually worn out too!

The last one I bought at a wrecker and it's now broke. These kind of things you really want to have a good look before you buy.   I had it shipped site unseen last time. The parts guy said it was good. (good for what I'd say?) And now with Greyhound gone, the shipping is a lot higher so I will try a new one.

In the lower picture it looks like it broke at a hole ? IF so, can you 'fill the hole' with a grade8 bolt and nut ? Maybe even lay 1/2" flat bar stock across the hole to make that area stronger ?
If it's always broken using one piece of equipment, you could remove the 'splint' materials after using that implement.

That was exactly my thoughts too Jay...bolt some support onto it!

It does break in the hammer strap mounting holes.

The other part of this failure was that the pto was running when it broke so it smashed around a bit on what was left of the draw bar breaking the u-joint and damaging the shaft.

The down time is costly enough waiting for parts - two days- but I had to go the jobber route for the u-joint because Case/New Holland wanted $1200 CAN for 1/2 of the pto shaft! ($540 for 1/2 yoke)

In the end it was more like $220 to fix the discbine and I stole the drawbar off another Allis in the shed to keep making hay.

The forecast is rain possibly snow the next couple days...climate change. lol

Don't know how much room you have, but you may be able to use a chain, or fabricate a bar (pending ability, resources, etc) to go from your 3 point arms under the drawbar to allow the 3 point to help carry the tongue weight.  If using a chain, I would adjust the length to the point that the arms are slightly lifting on the drawbar when they are all the way up.  Just putting a bolt in the hole most likely won't help much since the base metal will still have the weak spot.

We broke the drawbar on our 7045, and the local welding shop welded it back together. He filled that first hole full of weld, and it hasn't broken again. Used a stainless steel rod.

We have broken several draw bars over the years. Haven’t broken one on the 8070 yet we run a chain under the draw bar to help support the weight pulling manure tanks. Got a draw bar and yoke from a&i on a 4450 now still holding up after 2 years

Just seems messed up to me.  Seems a 7050 is a right-sized tractor for a 13 foot discbine.  So then, seems a piss poor design issue of some sort with the tongue weight of that discbine they ended up with?
 
So, does a side load bind it then?  The hitch looks like it hinges up/ down, but side to side whether leaning/ twisting/ or turning looks like it's rigid.  Tractor or mower goes in a gopher hole while the other doesn't, and there's a twist?

I bent the drawbar on our 8050. Got a decent used one, took it to a shop and had a hole drilled in the other end of the drawbar about 5" past the hole that pins under tractor. The drawbar now doesn't stick out the back of the tractor as far but still far enough to utilize a foot of it for an application like yours. We have an 8010, 2 8050's, 8070, 7060 and a 7020. Some drawbars have 2 holes close together at the tractor end, some don't, some drawbars are longer than others. We have had several of our drawbars drilled to shorten them 4 or 5 inches without any problems. It does seem like they stick out the bail a long ways when in the last hole at the tractor end of the bar. There's a lot of stress on the drawbar right at the bail when it sticks out that far.

I hear ya' Leon, but you have to be careful as well.  540 vs 1000 PTO, the standard dimensions from the end of the PTO shaft to the center of the draw pin.  My 7045 comes out right on that mark with it's two holes.  I know you know that.....just saying, guys should be careful.
