Add some high powered gas treatment that gets rid of varnish, water, dirt etc. get running long enough to get plenty all thru. the gas delivery system and forget for a day. Try it and see what happens. If you can get it to stay running, with a spray bottle spray water into the carb. until it affects how it's running a little bit. You can put about a half pint thru. it and this will steam out the carbon and make it run better. Try not to kill it with too much water.

have not tried  water yet
Put the gumout regane about a quarter bottle in the tank and ran it a while then parked it for 2/3 days. took it out yesterday for about a half hour , so far seems to  run better, smoother more responsive.   also  when i tried the choke i noticed i was able to pull it out about an inch farther than i had been, just more muscle ( i try not to force things )  now it starts right up with out a lot of cranking.
will try the water later.
thanks to all for helping, thats what is great about this forum!
