Howdy, I have a 1956 TL-10 wheel loader, SN 1478. Does anyone know anything about the torque converter it's equipped with? I started it for the first time in 3 years and the torque converter wont engage to make it go forwards or backwards at all (and its oil reservoir was filled with oil before I started it). My grandpa parked it back then because it only would drive backwards and it probably was run low on hydraulic/transmission oil due to a leak in a hose. Now the forward/reverse tc lever does nothing at all. I'm going to pull the inspection plate(s) off of the transmission tomorrow to see if i can see anything, but any help or advice on what to look for before I have to pull the transmission off would be greatly appreciated. And, just for kicks, if anyone knows where I can get my hands on a TL-10 service manual please let me know. Or, if any of you have one and would be willing to make some copies of the tc repair and/or overhaul please PM me, I will pay you for the copy fees and shipping. I know there may be copyright issues, but these dang things are nearly impossible to come across...

Some of these units need to be checked with unit running to find proper fill level as the converter needs to be filled by pump.

Quick update-
A member from here emailed me some pages from the service manual and cleared a bunch of things up. My problem is actually the forward/reverse clutches, not the torque converter. The TL-10 has 1 torque converter in the bell housing, and 2 identical dry clutches inside the transmission that control forward and reverse motion. My problem is that the left hand clutch Floater plate and roller disc assembly is rusted to the drive cup splines. I will take it apart in the next few days and hopefully I'll be good to go...
