I picked up the G I bought today. As with most it does need some work. Good news is it runs good, no fluid leaks and drives good. The other end is the brake pedals go way down even   though the rods are adjusted all the way. The owner said he replaced the brakes and was upfront about the pedals. The choke rod seems to be backwards. It is being run on 12v - ground. The generator wires have been clipped off. I have done some looking into converting to 12v but have not been very successful finding much info. Would someone be willing to help with some directions and a wiring diagram if possible? I have att some pics. For right now it has a place of honor for the season. Thanks again for any and all help.

I converted my G to 12 volt negative ground. Had the generator rebuilt and rewired to 12 volts and added a voltage regulator under the hood. I followed the wiring diagram in the operator's manual and just made a few changes for the voltage regulator. For that, I referred to the wiring diagrams in my D14 and D15 manuals. Sounds like you are going to have to pull the axles to check out your brakes, no big deal - they are pretty light. I suspect he might have put the linkage together incorrectly.

Mike, I offer a complete 12V conversion for the little G now if you're interested. Just came out with it a couple months ago. New Alternator, new hi torque starter, all new wiring, switches, Voltmeter, Alternator bracket, hardware kits and instructions. You could change that little bugger over in a weekend. Push button start. Sold quite a few now, and everybody loves how their G runs and starts now. Sounds like you gotta' look at them brakes. Somethin's up there. Congrat's on your new to you G! Nice Mike!, I agree with everyone, when you have time the brakes need a check. Looks like you have a good starting base for a real nice G!

Thanks to all. Especially Joe for sending the manuals. It will be some time before I get back to it. I think this one will stay at my house not at the cabin with the rest of the herd. Should be fun!
