Been boring on this part of the forum - the D 21 was the perfect setup for tractor pulling - in my opinion with Allis,, whats some good D 21 pulling stories -set ups ,, ??

The McKinnon brothers from western Illinois, at one time had FOUR D-21 pullers and a 7050 puller. Don, Herb and Bennie McKinnon.

I never saw his tractor in person, but I remember "The Puller" magazine talking about Al Koch's (maybe the first) four turbo setup and they twisted the needle off the boost gauge (at I believe IIRC 200 lbs. of boost).

I think Al Koch was the first to blow the cylinder head off the top of the block coming down the track. NTPA used to have a video of it. About jerked Al's arms out of their sockets when the hood left the scene and the steering wheel jerked upwards too.
