Anyone use a 'stone picker' in the wife's veggie garden ?
Dang grapefruit sized ROCK came up from 'nowhere' and busted the tiller. Arrrgh..like who has 10mm x 45mm shear pins in THEIR barn? 45 minutes later I find ONE 5/16 grade 5 bolt that fit...and back to the garden. Now I'm paranoid there's another ROCK..so...looking for ideas to remove stones say 1" and bigger.Garden is 50 * 250 so D-14 or garden tractor is available. Jay |

I keep hitting rocks, steel, parts, horshoes, this hear pair of pliers to remove nails from horshoes., etc. never broke the tiller, but my tines need replaced. I think the best thing would be a set of plows, once it's rolled over ya should be able to see the big rocks. then ya can till it. I tried using the neighbors rock rake and it didn't seem to work worth a crab, it just walked over the bigger rocks.
I actually have a rock at my front steps I hit with the tiller. 4 foot 10 inches long almost 3 feet wide and several inches deep. loader wouldn't pick it up, had to drag it!!!! rock hounds are expensive and out of questions for this dirt poor fella!!lol ![]() |

My 'stone picker' is my wife and myself, pulled up one in the garden with the D15 and subsoiler back in March that I needed the skid loader to move.I also have a York rake that I took every other tooth out that gleans rocks out of loose ground pretty good.
