here's a healthy snack ya'll can do in your slow cooker (AKA crook pot). HONEY GRANOLA: 4 cups old fashioned oats (uncooked), 6 tbsp honey, 1/2 cup flax seeds, 1 cup bran cereal, 1 cup raisins, 1/4 cup canola oil. pour it all into your crock pot and mix it all up real good, put the cover on, but leave a gap (small) in the lid. cook on low for 3 hours, stirring it a few times, pour it out on parchment paper and let cool, break it up and put in an airtight container for 1-2 weeks. enjoy!

for those of you that have them fancy air fryers...yeah...dig them outta the back of the bottom cupboard, and try this! most all us like chili cheese hot dogs and you can do them quickly in the air fryer. put how ever many hot dogs you can get inside the air fryer basket on buns, put a bit of chili on the dogs on the buns, dice up sum onions and put on top of the chili, then either shred sum cheeze of your liking or can use the bagged shredded cheeze and put that on top of the onion. set the fryer to about 375 degrees, and the timer for about 4 minutes, the cheeze should be melted and a bit browned, take them out and let cool a couple minutes before you bite into them...cuz they are gonna be HOT! hot cheeze stuck on the roof of your mouth ain't a good thing!

I still have and use one of the original T-Fal Air Fryer with the turning paddle to do French Fries, works great. I can use it with or without the paddle.

o-k...here's an easy peasey one for ya'll. BBQ pork ribs. i get the "bone in" pork ribs, i think they taste better than the "boneless" ones. grab one of them cheap tin foil baking pans that are about 2 inches deep. put some anti-stick oil in the pan and rub it all over the sides and bottom, i use canola oil, squirt your favorite BBQ sauce on the bottom of the pan, add sum liquid smoke (not very much) maybe about 2 tbs, add a sprinkle of garlic powder across the sauce, then place your ribs in on top of the sauce, then sprinkle a small amount of meat tenderizer over the top of the ribs, it don't take much. cover the whole pan with tin foil and poke a few holes with a sharp knife in the foil, don't crimp the foil real tight on the pan yet, just snug. pre heat the grill, then set your grill on the lowest heat setting. after 1 hour take the foil off, turn the ribs over, and re-seal the tin foil. at the 2 hour mark the ribs are done and ready to serve. there is enough BBQ sauce on the ribs for taste, if you want a bigger mess, add more sauce after placing on the plate! yes...they will be more than tender!

i keep paper plates handi out in the outdoor kitchen, the small plates/bowls i use the dixie brand, they are the stronger of the paper plates, and i use chinet brand paper plates for the heavy cooked stuff like steaks and BBQ ribs and stuff, cuz they ARE the strongest one out there! and the old lady....oooooops...i mean the loving wife likes it cuz it's easy clean up afterwards! plus i don't hafta run in and out of the house for plates or bowls. i have drawers in my new orange tool boxes dedicated to these bowls and plates and cooking utensils along with some spices if needed. i even keep the tin foil pans and a few bean pots and pans in it! i also keep them tupperware type containers with the lids in the cupboards in there, when i make a big pot of stew/chili/beans/soup/or anything else, i have something to put it in (what we don't eat right away) for the freezer. i did buy a new coffee pot for brewing my green tea in or making a few cups of coffee, it's a perculator type used for setting in the coals while camping. i've used it a few times and it works perfect!

here's another air fryer way of cooking a whole chicky! grab you about a 4 lbs chicky, wash that chicky all over and pat it dry. set it aside and lets make sum seasoning. i've used a rub that is: 3 tbs of olive oil, 1/2 tsp of onion powder, 1/2 tbs of garlic powder, 1/2 tsp of oregano, 1/4 tsp of sea ground salt, 1/2 tsp bazil, mix all the dry ingrediants together, then take the olive oil and rub that chicky all over the outside, might take more oil than the 3 tbs amount cuz it's gonna be all over your hands too. spray the basket with something like PAM, put the chicky in the basket with the breasts facing down. now after mixing the dry stuff, sprinkle the bottom of that chicky with about 1/2 of the rub stuff. put the basket in the air fryer, close the lid and cook at 360 degrees for 30 mins. open the drawer, watch out for the steam, and with the help of a big ole stout fork, or anything that will turn that hot chicky over to breast side up, sprinkle some more olive oil on the top side...i ussually pour some on and rub it around with a folded paper towel. now sprinkle the rest of the seasonings on the top of the chicky, close the drawer and cook for another 30 minutes at 360 degrees. turn off the air fryer and let it sit with the drawer closed for 5-10 mins. after that take it out and put ona plate and enjoy!

tonights supper is gonna be: well i'll just splain how to. cook up sum thick sliced bacon, bacon goes with bouts everything! don't make it crispy, but well done, just so it gots a little flex in it. set aside on paper towels to soak out some of the grease! i swear i should buy stock in a paper towel company! anyways...take a chicky breast, and slice it flat wise, or edge wise should be o-k too...so the pieces are about 1/2 inch thick. give them a water bath and pat dry, throw them on the grill on the low setting. grab you what ever kinda bread you want and slap some butter on it, place next to the chicky to get it a golden color. grab any kind of cheese you like, after turning the chicky over once, cover the cooked side of the chicky with the cheese you choose! let it melt onto the chicky. by the time the 2nd side of the chicky is done, the bread should also be ready. ona plate puts down your bread, then the chicky, then a couple slices of bacon, then top with the other piece of bread. now you notice i didn't put and condiments on the bread...that's so i can taste all the great flavors that the chicky/cheese/bacon/bread offers. it's really tasty! you can add any condiment you like if you must, but try it without first.
