Last season I started having some un-evenness in my mowed grass, and after some inspection found some bearing wobble in both of my deck spindles.  I took everything apart that I could, and cant get the top bearing out.  I suspicion that the pulley/sheave is supposed to come off, then the bearing goes up, correct?  I have had it soaking and have tried to use the hydraulic press to get it off, but I am afraid I will ruin the pulley if I put much more pressure on it, so wanted to double check I was doing it right.  Also, where do I get parts? I already picked up the bearings locally, but if I tear something up trying to get it apart, or if I just cant get it apart, what should I do next?  Thanks in advance.

Hi Adam.

You can get a free PDF parts manual for the tractor at:

The pulley fits on a splined shaft. The arbor needs to be disassebled before replacing the bearings. Be sure to clean it up good and use new sealer when reassembling the two halves. You can get the parts from any local Simplicity dealer or from Wells Implement, Sandy Lake Implement, or online vendors such as Jackssmallegnies or Small Engine Parts warehouse.
