I just purchased one of these. I live near the original manufacturer which is Siefter in Kiel Wi. The distributor was Miller St. Nazianz neither of which exists in its original form.
Yes Red was mostly known for its forage boxes but I remember when they came out. They were pretty revoutionary at the time.
Miller was also the distributor for Leyland Tractors so you most often saw them being sold together. In fact they often painted them Leyland blue.
They were quickly replaced by Dunham Loerh however and IH had their 22 and 2350 series which most people thought were better loaders.
I got this one because its kind of an oddity now and I live just a mile or so away from St. Nazianz and Kiel is not far either.
I dont know how good they were. I expect not very as they were not on the market long but I dont need a great loader and its kind of a collectors item especially for local lore.
