My 190xt is making some kind of rattling light knocking sound from the rear end when the pto is engaged the heavyer the load the louder it gets. It stared doing it a couple years ago and is gradually geting worse . Has anyone had this problem or can someone tell me what has gone bad in there ?

If it's a 2 speed PTO, then you gears in the 3pt housing (single speeds may have this too, but I'm not for sure on those). I would start by pulling that housing off. You will probably want to pull the top cover off and have someone hold the PTO shaft so you don't have it fall out and nick the seal between the rear end and the transmission.
