Going to pull my stock 1965 190 in local farm stock pull in august. The only other tractors i know of right now are a 70 deere (weighted down good) and a deere 80. My 190 is weighted with calcium and rear weights right at 10500. What can i expect from these competitors? Thanks

Okay, I took the cab off and got it down to 9940. It had to be under 10500 with driver so I should be set to go if I put the fenders back on and the front slab starter weight. Adam

The 70 will be seriously underpowered& the 80 is a large lumbering ogre. The 70 will power out way early, the 80 will slowly make it's way down track til it's trash can size pistons stop. LOL I'm assuming your 190 is a non turbo? The 80 will be competitive, if your 190 runs good you should be able to out hp the 80. Let us know how it goes. I'm pulling with a friend I mine Saturday he has a 48 JD A with a power block& I'm pulling our JD 60. All stock Rpms, tires etc.etc will be fun.

Pulled last night in the 8500 lb antique stock class with our 185 up against an 820 JD. The 820 out pulled us bye 20 feet!!! We had a 3 mph limit, the 185 struggles with traction when limited to 3 mph.

Well we had the pull Friday night. Both of my tractors took 2nd! Unfortunatly it was out of two each. 1206 took second to a 1256. I ran out of traction due to a slick tire on the left side (no loss of power though). And the 190 I pulled in too high a gear (3rd low). My 2nd gear wants to jump out so I was scared to use it and I was afraid 1st would be too slow. I WILL use 1st next time. Unfortunatly I lost to the 80 John Deere so I will hear about it for at least two weeks (I work with the guy). Adam

Oh track was a mud hole too. Had 1/2" of rain earlier in the day. They did the best they could to get it right, but it was still slick. Adam

I looked for hard pulling wet clay or black dirt for my 17 and laid waste to many a 720, G, 2510 and 3020. Stayed away from crushed rock or sand.

Track was in decent shape for a short tire, rained good the day before & we pulled real late so moisture was coming up threwso the track was in our favor. Didn't matter the 185 didn't like this track.....

You have pics? What brand and model tire? I ran Armstrong Hi-Lug? long bar short bar and hated them. Sometimes they would start a vibration so that the tires would let loose of traction. Firestone Field and Road are real good and I had great luck with old CO-OP tire but can't remember model. Basically you are better off with a tire that places the lugs a bit farther apart. That allows more rubber contact to the ground. Too new of a tire gives too much lug flex which I think was part of my problem with those Armstrongs. Was the track clay or black dirt?

Track is down in a hole, gets flooded every time it rains good. Short tire 18.4-30's. This site won't let me upload pics on here so........ When I pull at the ashland co. Fair she pulls a lot better, great weight distribution nice surface to pull on. I attempted to up load the pull to no avail. I'll try again....
