Anybody run a equalizer hitch on their trailer. I pull an 18' tandem axle with my 3/4 ton pickup. Sometimes it wants to pitch a bit when i hit bumps or uneven pavement. I don't haul very heavy loads. The B about 2500 lb and WC about 3500, pickup is usually empty so would be nice to move some load to it.

load so you have tongue weight will help a lot

Equalizer hitch is used when you have too much tongue weight and cannot change it. For your problem, I change location of tractor forward or backward till I get a good ride with the proper tongue weight. Hope this helps. G. luck.

Makes sense, sometimes it seems better, maybe just by luck I load more to the front on occasion. Sorry I got this on wrong forum, sure don't need more traffic here.

I have an Equalizer that I use with my Camper. It makes a huge differance in the way a trailer pulls. You can't use it off the road. they transfer some of the wieght to the front axle of the truck. When you drive across the road expansion joints instead of bucking the trailer and truck act toghther

I use an equalizer/stabilizer when tagging a heavy trailer behind a pickup. The safest load is a trailer loaded heavy forward with equalizer transferring what would be tongue load to the front truck axle, along with the stabilizer system keeping truck and trailer unified in a straight line. The equalizer also provides much better truck braking power by transferring sufficient weight to the front truck axle.

I also have one that came with my travel trailer. It works awesome on transferring tongue weight to the front of the truck and keeps it from swaying on the highway in windy areas. I love it.
