i bought an Ok 316 over the weekend.

the sickle bar is bentin several places- i think i would want a new bar and wear plates, hold downs etc.

dad has a 313 for his f3 with a stock setup.

where can i buy a 16ft sickle for this, new head and bearing all together?

OR

for 900 for a crary or 1200 for the sch roller guide outfit i could go all new cutter- that sch roller guide thing looks SLICK,

but the stock allis setup i dont think was too bad.

thoughts?

On the SCH sickle bar, I was told by the local dealer that on shorter sickles (like 20' and less) it doesn't pay to put the roller guides on since it is short enough that the rollers don't gain you much, also the rollers they said had a tendancy to sieze up over time.  So I bought the 15' wear plate style sickle for my head, just waiting for warmer weather to install it.

I got my SCH sickle from Shoup parts.

This link should take you to the page for the series II sickle for a 16' head, it tells you how to measure and make sure what series your head is.
The reasoning on using the roller guides on longer sickles is to cut the force needed to push/pull the sickle to minimize binding, and they said on the shorter sickles it just doesn't pay to buy the roller style.  I can tell you this fall how well it works, but it'd be a little late for you.
