Phase 1 was getting power steering on my WD. I found a used Charlynn type setup at a salvage yard in Clinton MO. Came with everything but the belt. Bolted up nicely. I had to make a few adustment, but I expected that at the least.
Tried it out and it wouldn't work. Cracked the pressure line at the pump when it was running and it wasn't doing anything. So I am assuming the pump is no good.
Should have another one tomorrow. I have few doubts it will work with a different pump.

Anyway........
Phase 2 is that I would like to put a full hydraulic front end loader on this with a pump on the crankshaft so I will have live power.
The question is what type of pump, gallons per minute, pressure etc?
I'm guessing between 10-15 GPM and 1500psi. Brands?
What type of coupling do you use on a stock 2 belt pulley?
I know it will have to be adapted, but what is the best way?
I just need to get an idea on the best approach, then I can go from there.

10 GPM at 2000 rpm is plenty....psi needs to be 2400 maximum (1500 won't lift much)...the AC pump drive adapter was a disc welded into the front of the crank pulley.....kind of crude ....the disc had two slots in it that mated with a tang drive hub on the pump...this allowed for some misalignment because those old pulley's weren't always wobble free.

I can visualize that setup somewhat.
Is there a better way to do it?

What type of pump would you recommend, gear, vane?
Would a 2 stage pump work like on a logsplitter.

Trying to figure out what is right way and whats the wrong of thinking about it.
The perimeters to work with.
