I have an ACC-50 forklift, and it is really cold blooded. I run down the battery and almost all of the jumper box before it starts. Exhaust smells of propane, so fuel seems sufficient. Once warm, it runs great all day. seems like a choke would help, but none available. When I get a chance, I am going to try the hair dryer in the air intake trick. Any other suggestions?

The lap converter/ vaporizer is themost likely problem. They fill up with Tar and that stiffens the diaphragm until the engine warms up.i think that will either have a beam system or impco either way they're not too much money that's where I'd start

Our lift use to be the same way, its an ACC30, but an old mechanic told me how to cure it, ours has a small 4 cylinder renault engine, 12V system, but the ignition, which I am told is common is only 6v, if you have an external resistor, they take a wire and go from the start side of the starter up to the coil, bypassing the resistor it gives the coil a true 12 v on start, so the spark is much hotter to make it fire quicker, and once you let go of the key, it drops back down to the 6V. Now ours starts great.

I just thought of another possibility if it has an electric LP lock off you may need to install a crank bypass. Usually the electric lock off is operated by and oil pressure switch if the engine doesn't have Oil pressure it won't turn the fuel on.

Thanks guys, I will explore each of these items and report back. Sorry for the late acknowledgement, somebody at corporate headquarters decided I hadn't worked out of town enough. Think I'll ask "the Chicken" to have a talk with him!
