I think the paint may have been optional for orange or yellow. A friend bought 6ep19942 new in 67 and it was definetly orange.
65 would be about right for your s/n. Got a pic ??

Is it an Ag tractor with light grill and bumper or does it have a hard nose. Ag tractors newer than 1961 would be Persian Orange #2. The yellow could be several shades. Our HD6B  was orange and painted over with Highway Yellow. The HD6E is an Ag tractor and is Persian Orange #2. These were both primed with what appears to be a lighter shade of zinc chromate primer , which was a light green. Serial numbers are HD6B2472 and HD6E14474.

It has a plated mesh grill 80#? and a cast iron housing below the radiator, that the blade valve is mounted on. I think from looking in the manual the is submerged in oil inside that casting?
