I am looking for some information on an Allis Chalmers forklift.  Don't know much about it.  Was bought from Army surplus.  4000 lb lift capacity.  Serial number 65461000 model is suppose to be F4OPS.  Any info would be appreciated along whit what it would be worth at sealed bid auction.  They said it needs new plugs and a new battery.  It is LP, but does not have the tank.

Thanks,
Aaron(IN)

hmmm..just needs plugs and battery.....hahaha, also need propane tank !!
As with tractors, cars, planes, etc. if it ain't running ANYTHING can be busted! probably weighs 5000#( gotta be more thna lift capacity) so figure scrap value, then add 10% BUT consider ALL auction fees(buyers fee, sellers fee, taxes, etc.) Those can DOUBLE the bid you place!
Is it an indoor unit( small wheels)? Mines got big wheels and I get it stuck in 3" of soft dirt but D-14 pulls it out as chains are always on it.Look for any leaks.Mine's diesel so the engine is always black but tough little girl.BRAKES, though you can't test( not running) are lots of gut wrenching 'fun' to repair, cost of shoes about $100.
How high will it lift? Mines 9' reach and the mezzanine is 10'.....oops, but I manage somehow..
Check out Craigslist or other sites for 'comparables' to get an idea what they go for. Knowledge really is power.

I paid $1500 for a real nice low hour ACC50. Hard tires -5000 capacity. I  know guys sometimes get them for scrap price. Air tires bring more money.
